HUGE LOSS OF WAR SUPPLIES

New York, Aug. 12. A million dollars worth of war materials was destroyed in a fire on the Hoboken waterfront last night. The fire was brought under control early to-day after it had destroyed one pier and badly damaged two others together with a big office and warehouse building. A later message said that firemen in flreboats were still fighting the fire 24 hours after its outbreak. A nightwalchman and a longshoreman are missing, but nobody has been definitely reported killed. The F. 8.1. is investigating the cause of the fire, which is so far unknown.
