STREET DAY ON WEDNESDAY The practical work of the British Sailors’ Society throughout the world is emphasised by the following'figures: The society in co-operation with the Admiralty officials has been able to distribute 100:000 warm garments. 70.000 assort ' f/arcels of'‘'useful 11 and more than 1.000.000 packets of literature to sailors on active service. The society is helping to relieve the distress among the mothers, widows and orphans of our heroic seamen. The British Sailors’ Society’s motto* is: "Love for all: hope for all: help for all.” If a seaman is ill, it cares for him: if he is alone it links arms with him; and if he falls it helps him to his feet. "Our sailors have never failed you; we confidentally 4rust that you will never fail them,” states the society. Donations may be sent to the organiser, care of Hotel Nelson, who asks citizens to remember the street day on Wednesday next and to contribute liberally.
