Wellington, This Day. For h;s skill, courage and resolution in carrying out a bombing raid on Frankfurt last month, despite strong fighter opposition, and successfully flying his badly damaged aircraft back to base. Flight Sergeant Colin Rupert Marriott, of Christchurch, has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal. Thi s advice has been received from the Air Ministry, London, by the Air Department.
