MAITAI BOWLING CLUB
PRESENTATION OF PRIZES The official closing and presentation of prizes took place on Saturday afternoon in beautiful weather at the Maitai Bowling Club. There was a large attendance, all rinks being occupied. The p~2sident. Mr A. B. Nicholas, presented the prizes won during the season as follows: Senior championship, G. E. Piper; runner-up. W. R. Martyn. Junior Championship. H. Canning; run-ner-up, M. Kinzc t. Senior Pairs, W. R. Martyn and J. Wilkinson; runner-up, G. E. Piper and J. Mac Lean. Junior Pairs, G. . Wearing and M. Eden; run-
ners-up. J. Wilkinson and A. Rowe. Tillyard Cup. M. Kinzett; runner-up. R. Scott. Stua t Cup. R. Scott; runner-up, F. Monopoli. * Full Rinks, A. Rowe, C. Pettman. W. Freeth, W. R. Martyn (s); runner-up. O. De jorenzo, H. Canning, W. A Kenning, A. Persico. The president thanked a 1! the members for their loyal support during the season. All the games were thoroughly enjoyed. He also thanked the green supervisor, green keeper, and all others who had assisted in the smooth running of the club/ A special vote of thanks was accorded to the ladies for dispensin'- aiternooi has during the TOURNAMENT FOR GRATITUDE BUILDING FUND During the week-end a full rink tournament in aid of the Gratitude Building Fund was held. Fourteen rinks competed, inclccllnj visitors from Brightwatcr, Richmond. Tahuna and Nelson. The green was very fast and some exciting games were played. The only rink to secure four wins was J. Wilkinson, . ft’aisey. L. Ford a: d H. ! G. Kingslanri (skip). The winners donated the prizes to the fund, so the total amount handed over is £l6.
