SYDNEY MAN FINED £lO Sydney, April 7. A Sydney man. Charles Henry Woodford, was fined £lO with costs in the Special Court wa s having, without a licence. made five gallons of beer containing not less than 2 per cent, proof spirit. It was stated for the prosecution that Woodford was of gbod character. There was no suggestion that he made more than five gallons of beer, or that he had sold it. His only object, he had explained, was to have hop beer for his family for last Christmas. Woodford, it was stated, was very helpful to the authori ties in their investigations, and afterwards poured the beer away.
