OBJECTIVES IN EUROPE
GERMAN AND FRENCH TARGETS BOMBED (Rec. 1 p.m.) Rugby, Feb. 4. The Air Ministry states: “Last night Mosquitoes of the Bomber Command attacked objectives in western Germany. Mines were laid in enemy waters. Intruders on patrol over northern France destroyed one enemy aircraft. Not one of ours is missing.” Formations of United States heavy bombers were out over the Continent this afternoon when other aircraft were returning. Targets in northern France were apparently the objective. It is officially stated that strong formations of . United States heavy bombers, escorted by long-range fighters, bombed targets in western Germany.
