EVIDENCE BY PEDAL RADIO

Brisbane, Dec. 24. Evidence was taken over the “Flying Doctor” wireless network of 4000 square miles at Broken Hill recently by the Parliamentary Standing Committee Social Security. Revealing this, Senator W. D. Cooper, deputy-chairman of the committee, said he believed it was the first time that evidence had been taken in such a manner. Witnesses gave evidence from distances of up to 500 miles from Broken HiU. They used pedal wireless sets, and when they had concluded their evidence they were questioned by committee members. The session lasted an hour and a-half.
