FIREMAN'S LONG SERVICE

RESIGNATION OF K.W. DAYMAN The resignation of Volunteer Fireman R. W. Dayman, alter 32£ years’ service with the Nelson Fire Brigade, was received by the Fire Board at its quarterly meeting this morning. The chairman (Mr E. R. Neale) referred to the excellent record of service given by Fireman Dayman over a long period of years. He had always been a most popular member of the brigade. The brigade superintendent (Mr A. J. Drummond) said that there were lour members of the Dayman family in the brigade. The family had been interested in brigade activities for many years and had given excellent service.

It was resolved Jo accept Fireman Dayman’s resignation with regret and to allow him to retain his uniform.
