MOTOR TROLLEY AND TRUCK COLLIDE

ACCIDENT ON HAMPDEN STREET RAILWAY CROSSING Tw 0 Railway Department employees were treated at the outpatients’ department of Nelson Hospital this morning for injuries they received when a motor trolley and a truck collided on the Hampden street crossing just before 8 o'clock. Four men—Messrs Ray Hay thorn e (driver), Peter Sinclair (ganger), Thomas C. Fargbjr and Reg C. Knapp —all railway employees, were travelling to work on the “jigger” when the collision took place with a truck owned by W. U. H. Cole and Co. and driven by Mr G. A. Cole. The trolley was knocked off the rails a distance of about 15 feet. Mr Haythorne received injuries to a hand and Mr Sinclair suffered abrasions and cots on the body. However, they were able to return to their homes after treatment at the hospital. The men on the trolley were fortunate to escape more serious injury.
