DOCKS AND AERODROMES DAMAGED ENEMY TANKER SUNK London, June 24. An air communique issued at Cairo says: R.A.F. heavy bombers last night attacked the aerodrome at Comiso (Sicily)* Bombs burst in the hangar and workshops area, causing two violent explosions and two large and a number of smaller fires. An Algiers communique says Wellingtons last night attacked docks at Olbia (Sardinia). Several fires were left burning Coastal Air Force planes attacked and sank an enemy tanker. Two of our aircraft are missing. Rome radio said Mussolini has appointed new party secretaries in 18 Italian provinces. PHOTOS OF DAMAGE The German radio quotes reports that the Italians have evacuated Castellorosso, the easternmost island of the Dodecanese. The German radio states that an exhibition of photographs of air raid damage was opened in Vienna, showing the destru-.ion of monuments of European culture. A hundred pictures taken both of German and Italian cities, show what is left of buildings built over hundreds of years. REBUFF TO GERMANS Morocco radio says it is reported from Berne that Field Marshal von Bock, one of the German commanders o.*i the Russian front, was offered the command of German forces in Italy a few days ago. Field Marshall von Bock asked to be given command of special Axis forces in Italy, including the Italian forces under General Rossi, but the Italian High Command refused to put their troops under German command.—P.A
