WEDDING

HALL—ANDERTON The wedding took place on Easter Saturday at Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, of Anita Elizabeth, daughter of Mr and Mrs Howard Anderton, of Clevedon road, Takanui, Papakura, and Robert Elkton Leslie, eldest son of Mr and the late Mrs H. Hall, of Nelson. The bride wore a gown of magnolia lace, the bodice and train being appliqued with satin flowers. Her long flowing veil was held in place with a coronet of lilies and orange blossom. She carried a sheath of lilies, daisies and maiden hair fern. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, her sister Merle and a cousin, Jane Mirko, wearing frocks of pink and blue hailstone net over taffeta. Shoulder length veils were worn with haloes of flowers to match their bouquets. Gay Housham was flower girl, frocked in green hailstone net made similar to the bridesmaids’, and carrying a basket of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Constable T. H. Bryce, of Grey Lynn, and Mr Alec McAlister, of Hamilton, acted as groomsman. The reception was held in the parish hall, Otahuhu, where 90 guests were received by the bride’s mother, wearing a frock of navy georgette with a fox fur. She carried a bouquet of mauve and white asters. Mrs Ron Hall assisted her, frocked in nigger brown with an autumn-tinted bouquet. When Mr and Mrs Hall left for the South Island the bride travelled in a tailored costume of Air Force blue with a fur stole and accessories.
