OBITUARY
MR W. BARRINGTON MILLER Gisborne, This Day. The death occurred this morning of Mr W. Barrington Miller, aged 74. Starting business in Gisborne in a small way many years ago, he became active in theatrical production, and going to Sydney in 1912 he became general manager of Union Theatres Limited and director of Australian Films Limited. After several visits to America he went to England in 1919, retiring from active participation in the business he had created, but maintaining a financial and personal interest in it. Since returning to Gisborne shortly before the outbreak of war, he had been a liberal benefactor to many local institutions. —P.A. MR J. J. McINTOSH Hokitika, This Day. The death occurred last night after a long illness of Mr John James McIntosh, former licensee of the Red Lion Hotel and superintendent of the Hokitika Fire Brigade, at the age of 76. For many years he was president of the Westland Racing Club. A native of Invercargill, Mr Mclntosh leaves a grownup family of five daughters and one son.—P.A.
