The ancient Romans had a kind of newspaper called “Acta Diurna.” It consisted of a written statement of daily events, and was posted in various parts of the towns. It is said to date from fill B.C. Somewhat similar “£ysheets” were printed and issued in England long before the first newspaper was established.
