FIGHTING FRENCH SOLDIERS

BRITISH DECORATIONS IN DESERT (Rec. 11.50 a.m.) Rugby, Oct. 8. Presenting decorations to Fighting French in the Egyptian desert, the Com mander-in-Chief, General Alexander, expressed appreciation at the brilliant services which the Fighting French had given to the Allied cause. An officer commanding the artillery was decorated with the D. 5.0., two others received the Military Cross and four n.c.o.’s and seven soldiers, including two Foreign Legionaries, were given the Military Medal. The ceremony was followed by a review of the First Brigade Group, which is now splendidly equipped.— 8.0. W.
