TAKAKA TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Takaka Town Board was attended by Mr N. L. Bensemann (chairman), and Messrs K Page and E A. Polglase. Correspondence was received from the Government Valuation Department, and from the Public Works Department regarding the flooding of the Takaka river. Reports from the Health Inspector and the Superintendent of the Fire Brigade were read. The Fire Brigade Superintendent, Mr C. Ellis, stated that members were attending first aid classes under the St. John Ambulance Association every Tuesday evening. Every Saturday afternoon, a different team paraded and was given practice in pumping. New hose had been received and was now ready for use.
