CAKES AND PUDDINGS FOR BRITAIN I CHRISTMAS PROVISION Wellington, This Day. In response to representations made y the New Zealand Post Office, the British Ministry of Food had agreed to a request that persons in New Zealand bo allowed to post to civilian addressees m the United Kingdom for the forth- . coming Christmas period cake and fruit puddinj - up to the ful weight Limit of j s|b allowed in respect of any one gift parcel. An announcement to this effect was made yesterday by the Post ! master-General, Mr Webb. Normally, the quantity of any one foodstuff enclosed in a parcel may not exceed 21b This concession will remain in force till 30th November, and though no guarantee could be given that the parcels • posted under it will reach Great Britain in time for Christmas, the conces- ’ sion will enable senders in New Zea i land to send cukes and puddings of a greater weight than is normally pos- ] sible. The Minister added that there was no change in the conditions applying Ito parcels for members of Dominion units in the United Kingdom or Du minion members of British units. Parcels weighing up to lib are accepted tor such addresses provided that in the .case of those addressed to Dominion members of British units they are forwarded in care of the New Zealand War j Services Association, 415 Strand, Lon•don, W.C. 2.—P.A
