Beethoven, the composer, had two im perious habits, by which he was constantly swayed—that of moving his lodgings, and that of walking. Almost as soon as he was installed in an apartmen he would discover some fault in it, and commence looking for another. Every day after dinner, despite rain, i wind, hail, or snow, he would issue forth on foot and take a long and i fatiguing walk. j
