A ceremony at which the Lord Mayor of London officiates at the church of St. Andrew Undershaft has be *n performed without intermission for over 300 years. It includes the placing each year of a fresh quill in the hand of Jie terracotta figure of John Stow, the antiquary, which his widow provided in the year 1605.
