NEW ZEALAND R.S.A.
MOVE BY AUCKLAND BRANCH NOT SUPPORTED BY PALMERSTON NORTH SURPRISE AND INDIGNATION Palmerston N., This Day. At a meeting of the Palmerston North executive of the R.S.A. a resolution was passurl affirming loyally to the New Zealand R.S.A. in the basic prin- ’ ciple of its constitution as a non-party 1 political organisation. It further expressed surprise and indignation that, regardless of what the consensus of opinion of members throughout the Dominion may be. the executive of the 1 Auckland branch should take independent action to amend its constitution in this particular direction. The executive further expressed the opinion that if individuals of the Auckland Association are dissatisfied with the constitution of the N.Z.R.S.A. their proper course is to resign from its membership and form a separate organisation altogether quite distinct from the N.Z.R.S.A. The executive also urges the head- ; quarters of the association in the event of the Auckland Association becoming : disaffiliated, to take every possible ac- ; tion to ensure that the funds of that branch be not diverted to purposes other than those for which they were received by the Auckland Association as an affiliated branch.—P.A.
