ARRIVAL IN BRITAIN
KING OF GREECE ANI) MINISTERS ' Rec.. 10.20 a.m.) Rugby, Sept.. 22. On arrival at a northern British port this morning King George of Greece and tht' Crown Prince were welcomed by the Duke of Gloucester and the local civil service authorities. A naval guard of honour was provided. The Greek Prime Minister, M Tsonderos, the Minister of Finance, M Varvarpessos, and the Minister ot Labour. M. Demitratos. also accompanied, the King. Princesses Aspasia and Alexandria were also in the party. M. Tsonderos said: “Wo are extremely happy to find ourselves here among Br'tish people. We intend to carry on to the very end this terrific struggle.” He added that he did not know how long they were staying here. He was pleased to be able to go t< London “As London is the capital not only of Britain and her Empire but ot all freedom-loving people. The King of Greece and members of 1 is Cabinet were met on arrival in London by the King and Queen, the Luke and Duchess of Kent. Mr Churchill, Mr Eden, other members of the Cabinet, and the Chief of the IrnI perial General Staff—U.P.A.
