BOMBER COMMAND'S ACTIVITY LOW-LEVEL RAID OX AERODROME j (Rec. 1.40 p.m.) Rugby, Aug. 5. "Blenheims of the Bomber Command [ attacked an enemy convoy off the Dutch 'coast this morning and direct hits were seen on a ship of about 2000 tons," states an Air Ministry communique. "Other Blenheims bombed enemy pat rol ships off the German coast early this afternoon and scored hits on three of them. "Our fighters carried out offensive patrols over the Channel and northern France during the day. During one of these patrols low-level attacks were made on an aerodrome near Cherbourg and several enemy aircraft on the ground were hit and damaged. One of our fighters is missing.—8.0. W.
