R.A.F. POUNDS BENGHAZI
ATTACK ON ENEMY CONVOY Rugby, Aug. 2. A Royal Air Force (Middle East Command) communique states: “R.A.F. heavy bombers attacked the harbour at Benghazi during the night of 31st July and Ist August. Bombs fell on a seaplane base, a petrol depot, and coal stores, causing a number of explosions and fires. Yesterday our bombers attacked enemy motor transport concentrations near Sidi Omar, and bombs were seen bursting among or near the vehicles, and a number of fires and explosions took place. "Aircraft of the Fleet air Arm attacked an enemy convoy in the Central Mediterranean during the night of 31st •July, and apparent hits were observed on one vessel, as explosions and tires | were seen after a torpedo attack had ! been made.
