DATE OF SESSION

PARLIAMENT TO ASSEMBLE ON 12th MAI l OPENING BY SIR CYRIL NEWALL [United Press Association] WELLINGTON, This Day. An announcement that the session of Parliament was to open on Wednesday, 12th March, was made yesterday by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser. The I opening ceremony will be performed by the new Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, who is now on his way to New Zealand to take up his vice-regal duties. Parliament is unlikely to remain long in session after the formal opening, and when the Address-in-Reply debate is finished an adjournment will probably be taken till the Financial Statement is ready for presentation. This will possibly be about June. The programme for the session is to be discussed at a caucus of members of the Parliamentary Labour Party to be held on 18th February.
