HOME GUARD
VISIT TO NELSON OF MAJORGENERAL R. YOUNG Major-General R. Young, Dominion Commander of the Home Guard, will arrive in Nelson by the midday plane on Monday, 17th February, for the purpose of inspecting the Nelson Area Group of the Home Guard. At 7 p.m. General Young will inspect the Motueka Company. The Lower Moutere Platoon should attend this parade if possible.
At 7.30 p.m. the Riwaka Group will be inspected, followed by Tasman and Mapua Group at 8.20 p.m. Wakefield will be visited at 9.30 p.m. On Tuesday evening at 6.30 p.m. in Trafalgar Park the Nelson City Group will be inspected, after which Guardsmen will march to the Marsden Hall where a lecture on guerrilla warfare will be delivered by Platoon Commander Parr. At the conclusion General Young will address the company. Richmond will be inspected at 7.20 p.m. General Young will be accompanied by the District Commander, Major Kingscote.
