EFFECT ON U.S. EMPLOYMENT [U P A.-By Electric Telegraph—Copyright | NEW YORK, 4th December. A conference of boards of the Federal Industrial Economics Division estimated that defence contracts awarded before Ist November will provide an additional 4,000,000 jobs throughout the United States by June, bringing total employment far above the 1929 peak.
