(Received 30th November, 11.10 a.m.) RUGBY, 29th November. : British fighters in Greece in the last two days destroyed ten enemy aircraft states an R.A.F. communique, which ■ adds that in south-west Albania yester--1 day a small patrol of our fighters encountered twenty enemy CR42 fighters. Our planes at once attacked and in less than a minute seven enemy aircraft were shot down. Later during an individual combat one of our fighters collided with another CR42 which crashed in flames. On the previous day fighters from the same squadron intercepted a formation of CR42’s one enemy being shot down in flames and another disappeared behind the hills out of control. Bomber aircraft raided Santi Quaranta, whence destroyers bombarding Corfu fled on the approach of our formation, and Durazo Elbasan. From all operations two of our planes failed to return, one being a fighter involved in the collision with an Italian plane. There was considerable enemy activity at Malta yesterday, states a London bulletin, when a number of bombs were dropped but there was no damage. R.A.F. fighters intercepted the enemy with the result that a CR 42 was shot down and two so badly damaged that it is unlikely they were able to return to their base. IN THE WESTERN DESERT Our aircraf . or. the western desert attacked a small enemy column south of Sidi Barrani. Motor transport vehicles were severely damaged and a number of drivers killed. An anti-aircraft battery was silenced. the crew being killed. In Italian East Africa Assab was raided, bombs falling close to a large ship equipped with anti-aircraft guns which was in harbour. In other areas numerous reconnaissances were carried out and valuable information obtained.
