NEW COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-CoDynght] LONDON, 29th November. General C. J. E. Auchinleck, Com-mander-in-Chief of the Southern Command in Britain, has been appointed Commander-in-Chief in India. He replaces General Sir R. A. Cassels, who has held the position since 1935.
