fTo the Editor] Sir, —In regard to the appointment of Beach Caretaker at Tahuna I trust the board in coming to a decision will make sure that the appointee is versed in the art of swimming, it being essential to have someone at hand to render assistance in case of emergency. Many times the caretaker would be the only person available. Mothers with children and indeed bathers generally, would enjoy their outings to our lovely beach more if they could depend on timely help in case of accident. —I am etc.
