AWARD APPROVED BY KING [British Official Wireless] t •— (Received 28th June, 11.27 a.m.) RUGBY, 27th June. The King has approved of the appointment of Flight-Lieutenant I. S. Soden as a Companion of. the Distinguished Service Order in recognition of gallantry displayed in flying operations against the enemy during two days’ j flying operations in France. Flight Lieutenant Soden shot down { five enemy aircraft, and possibly two j more. One occasion he attacked single-handed between 50 and 60 enemy fighters destroying one. Flight Lieu-; tenant Soden has recently been postedj as/missing.
