ENCAMPMENT SURPRISED BY BOMBERS CAIRO. 25th June. The R.AF. took an encampment at Birelboggi, in the western desert, by surprise and bombed tents, causing troops to flee to shelter. The R.A.F. also raided Asmara aerodrome scored direct hits on hangars and runways. All the machines returned. Blenheim bombers raided Diredawa aerodrome. One failed to return. Blenheims also raided Jigjiga and damaged Italian planes.
