CONTRIBUTIONS TO SICK AND WOUNDED FUND There was a large attendance at a card evening which was held in Mrs Sixtus’s home. Prizes fer euchre were | won by Mrs C. Palmer and Mr L. Mead. ! A dainty supper was provided by the 1 ladies. The evening closed with a hearty community sing. A most successful social and dance was held in the school. Keen competi-

tion was again shown when a fat lamb was auctioned. Mrs H. Sixtus won a cake which was made by Mrs M. Newport and iced by Mr L. Lammas. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies. Bright piano music was provided by Mr Collins, and Mr Sixtus played accordeon extras. Mr W. Cameron ably carried out the duties of M.C. The function ended with the singing of the New Zealand Anthem and the National Anthem. Proceeds amounting to £l3 16s 6d have been donated to the Sick and Wounded Fund.
