NATIONAL PATRIOTIC COUNCIL

TASMAN BRANCH The recently formed Tasman branch j of the National Patriotic Council has completed a preliminary canvass of the |

whole district, practically every house- j holder and resident having been per- \ sonally called upon. A meeting of the local executive and collectors was held at the close of the j effort and it is pleasing to be able to report that the reception accorded to I the collectors was almost entirely sympathetic and generous, those unable to i assist being limited to an almost incal-

culable fraction. A sum of £72 5s 6d has been handed to the treasurer for the Moutere Hiding of the Waimea County Council. A f* rther collection will be made toward the end of April, (after which the position will be reviewed and a decision reached as to the ! frequency of future calls on the contriI butors.
