RATE OF PROGRESS STOWED DOWN \ IMPORT RESTRICTIONS I [United Press Association) WANGANUI, lith January The restriction of imports has had the eect of slowing down the rate of progress of the Wangaiiui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board’s business. Though no drop in returns is expected at present, any improvement will, it is stated, be modest till stocks are freer and the board is able to renew its eective sales policy. Revenue from various sources was shown in the report of the secretary, Mr G*. A. Ammundsen. presented at to-day’s meeting of the board. The revenue increase for December w£;e the smallest recorded for a long time, it was stated. Meter readings for the month were £3678 for domestic electricity use, £lßl2 for commercial use, £1702 from power. £929 from water heating, £3B from community lighting, and £65 from penalties. The total revenue for the month was £8224; this was an increase of £254 on the figures for December, 1938. The increase for the same month in the previous year, however, was £4lB.
