IN SOUTH AFRICA
LIFE OF SENATE TO BE PROLONGED LEAVE FOR PERMANENT FORCES CANCELLED PRETORIA, 26th August. The Prime Minister. Genera! HertI zog. is recalling Parliament on 2nd September in order to prolong the life ol the Senate, which expires on 6th September. Leave for the permanent forces and the police force has been cancelled and the men recalled to their units. All vital ports are guarded day and night.
