ALL LEAVE CANCELLED OTTAWA. 25th August. The Defence Minister. Mr I. Mackenzie, has cancelled all leave of the permanent forces, covering 4000 in the Army. 3000 in the Air Force and 2000 in the Navy service. STATE OF EMERGENCY IN BERMUDA HAMILTON (Bermuda). 25th Aug. A state of emergency was proclaimed after an act was rushed through the legislature granting the acting-Gover-nor, Major A. Dutton, full powers of government.
