WAKAPUAKA BRANCH The August meeting of the Wakapuaka Branch was held in the Foresters’ Hall on 23rd August. It was an open meeting and the attendance was good. Business was discussed before afternoon tea. which was served a little earlier tha nusual to allow time for the event of the afternoon. This was a travel talk by Miss Hazel Johnston. Members had been looking forward to this talk for several months, and were not disappointed. Miss Johnston spoke of her work here in New Zealand. and went on to describe work cn : similar lines in the United States. Ow- ! ing to lack of time she was only able Ito touch lightly on this work in Great Britain and the Scandinavian countries, i and the branch hopes that she will be ; able to give a further talk on the sub- ! ject one day. 1 The meeting closed in the usual way I with the singing of the New Zealand National Anthem.
