RUMOUR AND DENIAL
PEACE MOVE IN CHINA TOKIO, Bth June. The rumour that the British Ambassador in China had advised General Chiang Kai-shek to resign to pave the way for peace has circulated in the Tokio Stock Exchange, causing a general rise in prices. A Shanghai message received yesterday stated that Sir Archibald Kerr had officially denied that a peace suggestion was made to General Chiang Kai-shek. WARRANT ISSUED FOR ARREST l Independent Cable Service! (Received 10th June, 9.10 a.m.) HONG KONG, 9th June. The Chinese Government has issued a warrant for the arrest of Wang Chingwei, whose whereabouts are at present uncertain, accusing him of traitrous activities.
