ONLY BLANK SHELLS FIRED
JAPANESE PILOT'S MISTAKE ALLEGATION AGAINST BRITISH CRUISER (Received 10th June, 9 a.m.) 3 TOKIO, 9th June. The Japanese naval authorities now explain that the cruiser alleged to have fired at a Japanese plane was the Kent, which the pilot mistakenly assumed was attacking him, whereas it was merely firing blank shells in target practice.
