PLANS FOR RESUMPTION NEARING COMPLETION It lifted Prew Association! AUCKLAND. 9th June. Evidence that plans for the resump# tion of the Pan-American Airways ser# vice from San Francisco to New Zealand are nearing fruition is supplied b> the arrival by the Monterey to-day of three officials. Messrs D. Walker, A J. Swesey. and H. L. Walsh. Mr Walker, who was accompanied bv his w ife and daughter, has been appointed airport manager at Auckland and flight relief officer for Pan-Ameri-can operations south of Canton Island. Mr Swesey will be chief mechanic at Auckland, and Mr Walsh communication. department agent in charge of the wireless station. Mr Walker was formerly airport manager at Wake and Midway Island! and at Treasure Island. San Franciaco. Mr Harold Gatty. Pan-American representative in New Zealand, who met the party, told an interviewer ihat he had no definite word regarding |ti e date of the resumption of Utt | service.
