PEDESTRIAN HIT BY CAR

SERIOUS INJURIES I UnJleti Press Association 1 CHRISTCHURCH, 11th May. Serious injuries were received by a pedestrian in a collision with a car on the main road on the Christchurch side of the Styx overhead bridge tonight. Two occupants of the car also received injuries. The injured persons were: John William Campbell, pedestrian, address unknown; compound fracture of the lower right and lower left legs and head injuries: condition serious. Mervyn Wilford Ashley, aged 21, 17 Severn Street, St. Albans, driver of the car; injury to the left eye; condition not serious. Albert Patterson, aged 23, 550 Cashel Street, passenger in the car; concussion; condition not serious.
