PORT MOTUEKA

FRUIT EXPORT APPROXIMATELY 260,000 CASES At the annual meeting of the Motueka District Fruit Exporters’ Association, held at Lower Moutere last evening. Mr J. O. Anderson. Orchard Instructor, stated that to date 249,000 cases of fruit had been exported from the Motueka district, and when the season ended, next week, the total would be approximately 260.000 cases. RECORD PEAR EXPORT Included in this quantity were 29.500 cases pears which constituted a record in pear export for the district. The fruit, he said, had been of good quality, and there had been fewer rejections for blemish, disease, etc., than in prvious years.
