The application of the Tadmor school 1 ( for g football was granted. TRANSPORT OF COUNTRY SCHOOL! PLAYERS | An application from Spring Grove for an increased grant for the transport | of school rugby players to their compei tition matches in the country was dis- . cussed and the matter was held in abey- * 3pce until the schools representative on ! the union is able to state the amount 1 required. ' The Nelson Club asked for lhe ad- ! ditional lights at the Park to be turned on on practice nights. It was left to the president and secretary to wait on the Council and get an all-in price for the use of the lights on a fiat rate per light per night. A PROTEST UPHELD i A letter was received from the Waimea Club protesting against two Nel- I I spr) third class players playing in Nel- I son fourths against Waimea on Sat- I urday. The protest was upheld and | the match awarded to Waimea on the I motion of the Nelson delegate, Mr T. I Mahoney. I Messrs T. Killaleg. A. Chapman and I E. Symes were approved as new mem- I .bers of the Referees’ Association. The | i Association representative on the Union. Mr A. Croucher. remarked that I last Saturday the Association had had difficulty in completely shouldering its ] responsibilities owing to the illness of * members. New active members were I welcomed. All applications from clubs for additional classifications were granted. QUESTION OF CLEARANCES After a discussion on the question of j clearances, if was resolved on the mo- | tion of Mr Mahoney that the secretaries | of all affiliated clubs be advised that it J is the intention of the union rigidly to I enforce in future the bylaw dealing with the transfer of players 1 The bylaw in question reads: No member shall play for any club i except that for which he is registered ! as a player, but a player may be trans- ! ferred to any other club with the permission of the management committee on complying with the following conditions: (a) The applicant for a transfer • must appear in person, if necessary, before the management committee. <b) Must produce a written clearance from the club which he is leaving, stating t that such club has consented to his j transfer, and also that he is not in f grrears with hi's subscription or any other dues. » WAIMEA JUNIORS g l ' ' ' The Waimea delegate. ' ] The delegates were thanked for their II ; attendance and report. It was resolved in connection with II I the tour, that 19 players and a managIr j er be sent, and that application be c made to the New Zealand Rugby Union ,g I for a grant towards the cost of the tour. ,s i The itinerary pro.vides for three ,e I matches—against Masterton.
