RIVER UNDER TASMAN
NEW ZEALAND FARMER’S CLAIM IU.P.A —By Electric Telegraph— Copvrmhi SYDNEY, 17th April. Among a party of New Zealand farmers who arrived by the Wanganclla today on a goodwill tour of New South j Wales and Victoria was a water-divin- j er, Mr W. J. Livingstone, of Hawkes Bay, who told a "Sun” reporter that j he had discovered a fast-flowing freshwater river beneath the Tasman Sea. i Mr Livingstone said that he was experimenting during the voyage when j there was a definite pull on his rod lasting a minute or so about halfway j across the Tasman. He estimated that the river was several hundred feet | wide.
