PLAY IN THE FINAL ! Right throughout the match Moulder used a No. 2 iron off the tee, getting phenomenal length and great accuracy. Only on the last two holes did he stray from the fairway. At the first hole after good tee shots both were on the right hand edge of the green, pin high, but Rogers, by missing a short putt for a half, lost in 5-4. At the second Moulder hit a wonderful tee shot right to the foot of the hill. Rogers having caught the edge of the bunker and bounced clear, was well behind. Both were on top of the ridge overlooking the green with their seconds but again Rogers missed a six foot putt to be two down. At the corner hole Rogers was well through and Moulder on the back edge. Moulder missed his three after being too strong with his approach putt and laid Rogers a semi stymie which Rogers negotiated to reduce Moulder's lead to 1 up. From a drive that found the rough on the right Rogers placed his second just off the green whilst Moulder hooked his second into the bunker on the left, short. He did not quite get the green with his explosion shot and missed his five, leaving Rogers three feet away and two for a win. Moulder 3 up. With a nice kick off the ridge Rogers’ tee shot at the 9th lay about 20 feet short of the pin. Moulder’s ball only just missed the bunker on the left. I A nice chip and a five foot putt gave him a three whilst Rogers missed a three footer. Moulder was thus 4 up at the turn. A number two iron followed by a number 3 iron put Moulder nicely on the tenth green. Rogers, after a poor drive which bounced out of the manuka, a second that failed to carry the ridge, played his fourth down to the pin from the back of the green. After missing a six foot putt for a 4, Moulder negotiated a \ stymie to win in 5—6. Moulder 5 up.
