GAY BALLET IN NELSON

BRILLIANT REVUE AND FAIR NEXT WEEK Miss Beatrice Aydon, whose great success in Blenheim some few months ago laised £I3OO for the Band Fund, has placed herself and her talents at the disposal of the Hampden Street Baths Committee and they have entrusted her with the entire stage production of a Symphonic Revue and Autumn Fair which will run at the Theatre Royal for the full week of 6th to 11th March. In this production Miss Aydon has been given a tree hand, the committee realising that she will provide the public with a series of entertainment on a scale and of a brilliancy not seen locally for many a long day. A visit paid to her rehearsals this week showed that Miss Ay don knows what the public like and that this time they will get it. During the past five weeks Miss Aydon has been training 80 performers in spectacular ballets, vocal choruses, dainty duos and charming solos. She has gathered in talent already known as well as talent not quite new to Nelson. With her usual thoroughness she has left no stone unturned in making these numbers outstanding in brilliance, colour and rhythmic precision. New ideas, beautiful costumes, the latest music and last bul not least beautiful girls—all are irresistible in their appeal. Mr Clarrie Lee will be in charge of an augmented orchestra, and this also assures the publi; of the best. Next week many hundreds will turn towards the Theatre Royal where from 7 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. gaiety will hold sway : a full evening’s enjoyment for everyone young and old is available right through the week. In a gaily decorated and transformed theatre one will be able to abandon all care and worry and join in the revels of a leal “Autumn Fair.” Here will he games and competitions, sideshows and bran tubs, modern streamlined stalls will provide specially selected goods of ail descriptions, and ice cream and sweets will be served in liberal measure. There will be continuous entertainment, ballets, company.
