POSSIBLE EMERGENCY IN SINGAPORE UP A —By Electric Telegraph—Coovriehtl (Received 28th February, 9.40 a.m.) SINGAPORE, 27th February. In the Legislative Council Sir John Bagnall suggested that the Government lay up two months’ supply of foodstuffs, especially rice, in view of a possible emergency. The Governor, Sir Thomas Shenton Whitelegge Thomas, said that the Government was most agreeable and it was likely that legislation to this effect would be introduced.
