1(J P A.-Bv Electric Telegraph Ooovrfahi (Received 27th February, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, 26th February The Executive Jewish Agency rejected the Government’s proposals for Palestine. it will 'report to a full conference to-morrow through Dr Weizmann REJOICINGS BY ARABS OPPOSITION BY JEWS (Received 27th February, 12.55 p.m.) JERUSALEM. 26th February. Arabs held demonstrations in the streets of Haifa. Jaffa. Nazareth and Tulkaram, rejoicing at *he imminence of an independent Arab State. The Jewish Coimcil issued a statement declaring that the reported proposal to replace the Palestine mandate by an independent Arab State would undermine the Jewish national home The statement added that the Jews would oppose the attempt to impose a minority status upon them. Troops arrested forty-one Arabs and seized a quantity of firearms.
