INTOXICATED MOTORIST

FOURTEEN DAYS’ IMPRISONMENT • United Pres* Anßociatioul NAPIER. This Day. A sentence of fourteen days’ imprisonment was imposed by the magistrate, Mr Miller, on Alick McMillan, commercial traveller, Hastings, aged 36, for intoxication while in charge of a car. “Six weeks ago I issued a warning that 1 would have to consider imprisonment in some of these cases,” the Magistrate said. “Taken on its own this case is not a bad one. This man has been before the court twice on these charges, and once for dangerous driving, and the previous convictions should have been ample warning.” Defendant was prohibited from obtaining a license for a year.
