PUBLICATION RECEIVED

A bibliographical brochure, containing addenda and corrigenda to extant bibliographies of New Zealand literature, by L. J. B. Chappie, 8.A.. 8.C0m.. has been published by Messrs A. H. and A. W. Reed. It is a book which every collector, librarian and student of New Zealand affairs should possess. It contains 116 items of New Zealand literature published in 1909 or earlier which have not appeared in the other bibliographies already available. In addition, Mr Chappie, who is a collector of note, has written a valuable introductory essay entitled ‘‘Some Bibliographical Suggestions.” In this he outlines an adequate definition of the term “New Zealand Literature.” dividing it into three periods. There is a limited edition of 500 signed copies which is not likely to meet with much financial success, but it is welcome as a contribution to New Zealand literature and one of great use to students and specialists.
