LONDON WOOL SALES
GOOD DEMAND EXPECTED fUnited Press Association! LONDON, 14th January. A good demand with little or no change in values compared with November is expected at the London wool sales opening on 17th January, for which the New Zealand offering is 45,700 bales. Bradford firms are expected to be useful buyers in view of the steady consumption of merinos since November. It is also expected that France will be a good buyer as the depreciated currency has improved wool exports to Scandinavia. Some circles are of the opinion that the London sales, coinciding with the arrival of crossbreds from New Zealand may slightly ease prices, but others believe that the arrival combined with the offerings at the sales will not meet present requirements. It is anticipated that there will be little change in crossbred prices, specially for lower qualities.
